ugo la pietra sistema disequilibrante
Documentary
- A journey into the radical vision of Ugo La Pietra, a key figure in Italian art, design, and architecture for the last sixty years. This documentary retraces the path of an author who utilized every medium at his disposal to develop his 'disequilibrating system'—a way of thinking and creating against the system, against stereotypes, and against definitions, with the goal of evolving the individual through new forms of perception.
- Hard to define—architect, artist, designer, and much more—La Pietra is a unique case in the contemporary cultural landscape. His career spans over 1,000 solo and group exhibitions, two Compasso d’Oro awards, 13 artist films, 300 books, 2,000 objects, and 3,000 paintings. He has curated exhibitions, captured photographs, taught in academies and universities, edited magazines, and even played the clarinet in Milan’s finest clubs.
- Through interviews, archival materials, vintage videos, and films, the documentary captures the complexity of a creator capable of crossing eras and languages, leaving behind a constellation of works and ideas that today form an essential part of our cultural memory.
